The National Black Graduate Network
The NBGN is affiliated with the Black Canadian Studies Association (BCSA), and emerged out of critical conversations among members of the 2019-2020 BCSA executive team about how academic racism impacts the growing numbers of students interested in pursuing Black Studies in Canada. This website became an interactive and secure website as a space from which to promote critical dialogue among network members and to develop a public resource for a new era of Black Studies scholarship in Canada

launchThe New Authority Poster
BCR requested a poster and album design for The New Authority, a bold and passionate indie band whose music not only addresses the pressing climate crisis but also confronts the underlying systemic issues perpetuated by capitalism. Through their evocative lyrics and captivating melodies, they shed light on the destructive impact of corporate greed and consumerism on the environment. Their songs serve as a rallying cry for change, advocating for a paradigm shift away from profit-driven capitalism toward a more sustainable and equitable society. The New Authority fearlessly challenges the status quo, urging listeners to question and resist the destructive forces that prioritize profit over the well-being of our planet.
By intertwining their message of environmentalism with a critique of capitalism, this poster aims to inspire collective action and systemic transformation to create a world that prioritizes the preservation of our fragile ecosystem over profit margins.

Open Borders Poster
Rise Up.net, a grassroots organization dedicated to social justice and equality, requested a protest poster for a demonstration at the US/Quebec Lacolle border crossing, advocating for open borders and opposing racism. The design captured the essence of unity and compassion but also highlighted the urgent need to combat racism and discrimination. It aimed to evoke empathy, incite dialogue, and ultimately inspire positive change in society. The resulting poster would serve as a rallying cry against the divisive forces that sought to divide us and emphasize the profound importance of embracing diversity and inclusivity in our world.
